Tattoos can be a powerful form of self-expression—but sometimes, our tastes or circumstances change. Whether it’s a design you no longer connect with, a spontaneous decision made on holiday, or a reminder of the past you'd rather move on from, we understand. At Relax Beauty, we treat every client as an individual—because every tattoo, skin type, and story is unique. Our goal is to help you reclaim your skin with safe, effective treatments and expert care.
Most unwanted tattoos can be treated with laser removal, and we will assess your tattoo during a consultation to recommend the best course of action.
We use advanced Q-Switch laser technology to break down tattoo ink into tiny particles, which your body gradually removes over time. During treatment, the skin is cleaned and the laser delivers precise light pulses to the tattoo. You may hear a clicking sounds as the ink breaks up, and a soothing lotion is applied afterward to calm the skin.
Immediately after the session, the treated area may appear white or frosted—this is temporary and fades quickly. The skin may feel tender and can show redness or swelling for up to 48 hours. In some cases, a light graze or scab may form. It’s important to let this heal naturally to avoid complications. Visible fading will begin to occur gradually over the next 4–8 weeks.
Most clients describe the sensation as a hot pinpricks or the flick of an elastic band. While it may feel mildly uncomfortable, the treatment is generally well tolerated. We also use a skin cooling technique to reduce any discomfort during your session.
The majority of clients experience minimal downtime. Occasionally, the skin may darken or lighten slightly, or form a small blister. These side effects are typically short-lived. Scarring is rare and usually avoidable by following proper aftercare. There may be a temporary reduction in tanning ability in the treated area, which often improves with time.
The number of sessions required depends on several factors including the age, colour, depth, and type of tattoo. Amateur tattoos often fade faster, requiring between 1–6 sessions, while professional tattoos may need up to 15. Treatments are spaced 6–8 weeks apart to allow proper healing and fading between sessions. Each session typically takes 10 to 30 minutes, depending on tattoo size.
